![]() ![]() We hope so… we do appreciate our quiet neighborhood (now that the idiot with the constantly barking and abused dog has been forced out!).įord didn’t supply a picture of the valve, but we have one from the GT350 showing the valve just under (this image was taken from a GT350 on its side) the lower exhaust pipe. So we consider the Active Valve Performance Exhaust a must-have option, well worth the $895, although we do wonder if it will indeed be purchased and then used by most owners. And to no technical purpose… just his immature ego. But we also see Mustang drivers who abuse their cars – one example is at the local Cars and Coffee where one owner has a completely open exhaust system: no cats, no mufflers. Modern exhaust systems are very efficient, and the Mustang probably leads the pack there. There are any number of drivers around who modify the exhaust systems on new cars purely for the loud noise – often loosing torque and with minimal HP gains if any. Yes, a very frank term, but unfortunately true with so many Mustang owners. ![]() And better yet, the driver of a loud Mustang need no longer be identified by his neighbors as “socially retarded”. It’s an $895 USD option, and it makes great sense – and with this there is little value to be had in buying an aftermarket exhaust. We like this new option for the 2018 Mustang: an electronic valve that enables the driver to quiet the exhaust system, with software that allows a clock schedule to be set. ![]()
